Wayland Musicians Produce Covid-Themed Christmas Song

WAYLAND, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A group of local musicians has teamed up to put a 2020 twist on a classic Christmas favorite.

More than a dozen musicians from "Wayland City Limits" got together virtually to create their own version of the 12 Days of Christmas song to reflect life during Covid-19.

The song features lyrics that mention things like rubber gloves, face masks, remote learning, pet adoptions, curbside pickup and other experiences related to the pandemic.

Musician Steve Robb produced a video of their song and posted it on Youtube and Facebook — garnering support from people in the community.

"The comments have been really positive," he said. "Our idea was just to offer this to the town to give people a feel-good something to smile at."

One commenter on Facebook writes, "Thank you Steve to you and your amazing group for this awesome jingle to ring in the holidays! What an extraordinary opportunity to be on the same page and to experience what everyone else is experiencing and express it through such a fun and memorable Christmas song."
