BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The arrest of a Brockton High School student has caused some concerns after viral video shows the school's resource officer kneeling on the boy's back and neck.
This happened after the student allegedly attacked another student. The arrest went viral on social media and is now under investigation.
Officials say the resource officer is on paid leave. The incident occurred during lunch break at Brockton High on Wednesday.

The video starts with the officer using his knee to restrain the student while handcuffing him. A student can be heard in the video saying, "why are you on his neck?"
Brockton's Superintendent said in a message to parents that the video was painful to watch given its historical context. That video and others are now being reviewed by the school and the Brockton Police Department.
The student involved was arrested and is being charged with assault and battery. He was released to his parents.
