TOPSFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — With Thanksgiving in the rearview, residents on the North Shore have turned their focus to Christmas.

Hundreds of people lined up early at the Topsfield Holiday Tree Farm to try to get the best Christmas trees for their homes. Owner Terry Dwinell and her husband Scott were there early on Friday morning.

“It’s nice in a way, but it’s also like, oh my god. Everyone be ready,” Terry Dwinell.

Due to the increased demand Friday morning and the traffic of cars picking up the trees, they opened at 7:00 A.M. instead of 9:00 A.M. One customer got there early hoping to beat the crowd.

“We didn’t. We were in line, probably about 100th in line, but we got in pretty quick because they opened up earlier,” said the customer.

For many on the North Shore, they have been getting their trees from Topsfield Holiday Tree Farm for generations.

“I used to go with my family when I was a baby and now I bring my two daughters here with us. We have a whole crew,” said one woman.
