WELLESLEY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A puppy stolen from a home in Wellesley was reunited with her family on Sunday night.
Ember, an eight-month-old black lab, was leashed to a fence at her family's Redwing Road home on Thursday when she disappeared. Police and the family took a look at the leash, and found that it was still working — meaning Ember had been taken.
Wellesley Police began a criminal investigation, looking at security cam footage and talking to neighbors. They tracked down one car that had circled the block several times.
The license plate of the car led police across town lines to Framingham, where they saw Ember being let out into the suspect's yard. A Framingham man and woman were both arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy, and the man was arraigned in Dedham District Court on Monday.
Police said the puppy was doing well back at home with her family, who were delighted to see her back in a video released by the department.
The department thanked Framingham Police and the family's neighbors for their help.
