SAUGUS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Under the Governor's orders, dining under tents will be allowed starting July 1.
At least 50 percent of the tent must be open and not obstructed by any type of siding.
This is crucial, Baker said, because of ventilation.
"You're still going to have the benefit of a free flow of air," Baker said. "And that, in many respects, is the most biggest difference when you talk to infectious disease people about the difference between indoor and outdoor: it's ventilation."
Castro owner of Prince Pizzeria in Saugus, Andrew Castraberti, said he's prepared for outdoor eating.
The restaurant on Route 1 and Saugus has a tent put up already.
"Enough seating, close to 100, everything is all carefully measured, socially distanted [sic]," Castraberti said. "It's got a nice cross-breeze, there's two sides of the tent that have walls, two that are open."
About 80 customers had lunch at Prince Pizzeria under the tent. Castraberti said the popular order was pizza and buffalo wings.
