CONCORD, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Documents unsealed on Tuesday from Hillsborough Superior Court - North in New Hampshire shed some light on what happened to Harmony Montgomery in early December of 2019.
The affidavit requested to be made public by WMUR-TV includes interviews with Harmony's father, Adam Montgomery, and her stepmother, Kayla Montgomery, on how the five-year-old girl died. In those documents, testimony from Kayla says Adam struck Harmony three times with a closed fist after she had a bathroom accident in the back of the family's Chrysler Sebring, which they were living out of at the time.
The documents go on to say Harmony began moaning after being hit multiple times, and that nobody in the vehicle tried to find her medical assistance. A few hours later, Kayla says, she, Adam, and the two other kids living in the vehicle realized that Harmony was not breathing and had died.

In the following months, Kayla tells police that Harmony's body had been moved to a few different locations, including the walk-in cooler of a restaurant. Court documents show Adam rented a U-Haul in the spring of 2020 and took the girl's body away. Police have not found Harmony's body at the time of posting.
In October of 2022, Adam was charged with second-degree murder by the state of New Hampshire to which he has plead not guilty.
