PHILLIPSTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — With the apple picking season in the books, the Red Apple Farm is trying its hand at a winter lights display for the first time ever.

Thousands of lights will illuminate the orchard almost every night 4 to 9 p.m. through the end of December. The ticketed ordeal is a walking experience that sweeps from the "serene spruce grove," around the pond, and circling through the orchard.

According to the farm's website, beverages and snacks will be available at the Country Store & Brew Barn and tickets are available to purchase online. Customers will get a slotted time to begin the experience to keep traffic moving while not rushing the event. Officials say the experience last about an hour depending on how fast a customer walks.

The Red Apple Farm holds multiple events throughout the year including the Blueberry Jamboree and Sunflower Festival in the summer and Appleseed Country Fair in the fall.

The Winter Lights will not be open for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day (December 24, 25).
