BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Despite the state being in lockdown amid the pandemic, the Boch Center's celebration of art is still kicking off as scheduled on May 1st. However this year, the ten-day art event will be taking place at home and online.
According to the Boch Center, art lovers are being encouraged to participate in ten days of Daily Challenges involving creative activities while staying at home. Each day of #ArtWeekAtHome will have its own focus on a popular genre of art/culture, starting with visual arts.
"Today’s challenge is “Recreate A Famous Painting.” The rules are simple – imitate an historic artwork using items lying around your home, take a photo, and share it with us tagging #ArtWeekAtHome."
According to the Museum of Fine Arts, plenty of people have already been recreating their favorite paintings with odds and ends from inside their houses, and posting it online.
Over the next ten days, the online Art At Home events will include daily challenges, wine and paint Zoom calls, technology that changes your photos into works of art, Instagram painting lessons, free online workshops, and live virtual tours with curators.
