QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A one-year-old French Bulldog is back safe with his family after he went missing from his home on Thursday night.

Quincy Police said the dog, named Bruno, reportedly slipped out of his collar and ran away from his home near Quincy Ave on June 10 at around 7:30 p.m.

They believe he then made it over to Kham Man Shopping Center, where witnesses said that a Black woman in her 40's picked up the dog, entered Dollar Tree, and purchased a collar for him.

It is unclear how Bruno was found and returned, but detectives reported earlier this week that they were investigating the incident as a theft.

They were asking anyone with information about the incident to reach out to Detective Pepdjonovic at (617)-745-5774.
