SHARON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Sharon told the public of a close call on Monday, saying a car there had nearly run an ambulance off the road before crashing itself. The crash happened along a narrow, wooded road near the Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary.

Police said the driver tried to pass an ambulance that was on its way to the scene of another crash and hit the ambulance, ending up perpendicular to both the ambulance and the road. They said the accident was a "close call for paramedics and a police officer," who were inside the ambulance.

Charges were filed against the driver for Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The driver wasn't identified.
