BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Patriots have done many things during the Bill Belichick era, but yesterday marked a first: They selected a receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft.

The Pats opted for Arizona State wideout N'Keal Harry 32nd overall.

The team posted the coach's call online.

"Hey N'Keal, it's Coach Belichick," he says in the call. "Congratulations. You're a New England Patriot. I'm excited to start working with you, and we're glad to have you aboard."

Harry told NFL Network he's shared that feeling since his pre-draft visit.

"When I had taken my visit, I really enjoyed it," he said. "I really enjoyed the vision they had for me, and I felt pretty confident when I left the stadium. Just getting to play with a quarterback like Tom Brady, it really is a blessing. I couldn't have a better start to my career, 'cause I know he's gonna make me better, I know he's gonna hold me to a high standard, and I'm ready for that. I'm ready for the NFL."

Music to Belichick's ears, I'm sure.

On Friday, Harry even got a Twitter shout-out from Brady.

Harry's a versatile, big-bodied pass-catcher with a history of highlight-reel plays. He's been compared to Dez Bryant, and turned in a pair of thousand-yard college seasons.
