(WBZ NewsRadio) — A soldier from New Bedford was killed in a training exercise at Fort Irwin in California.
Pfc. Justin Candido Kriby was just 21 years old when he lost his life on Monday.
The accident involving a Humvee performing combat maneuvers injured another soldier and remains under investigation.

“Pfc. Kirby was well known across the regiment and his passing has deeply affected us all,” Col. Scott Woodward said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and his fellow Soldiers.”
