1 Arrested, 1 At Large In Marshfield Kidnapping

MARSHFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Marshfield Police said they're still on the hunt for one kidnapping suspect after arresting a second last week.

Briana Raponi, 33 of Pocasset, is still at large. Marshfield PD said she is armed and dangerous.

Police said Raponi and Brian Barros, 51 of Harwich, held a man at gunpoint in the back of their SUV and demanded his money.

They're both charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a gun), strangulation or suffocation, armed robbery, armed kidnapping, threatening to commit murder, conspiracy, and use of a motor vehicle in a felony larceny.

The alleged kidnapping happened last Friday. Marshfield Police said they received two 911 calls about a man jumping out of a moving SUV on Pine Street yelling "don't shoot me."

That victim told police he willingly got into the back seat of the SUV and was met by Barros, who was holding a gun. He told police Barros hit him in the mouth and head with the gun, attempted to strangle him, and demanded money as Raponi sat in the front seat.

He said Raponi told him they would let him go if he gave them the money, while Barros threatened to kill him.

The victim was able to jump out, and the SUV sped off.

Barros was arrested by Harwich Police on Sunday morning, and arraigned in Plymouth District Court Monday. He's due back in court on February 10 for a dangerousness hearing.

Anyone with information about Raponi is asked to contact Marshfield Police at 781-834-6655.
