BROOKLINE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — More than one thousand people attended a pro-Israel rally in Brookline, Mass. on Sunday.

The participants marched around Coolidge Corner, fighting back against antisemitism and insisting it was not a political rally. Many were waving the Israeli flag, but there was no chanting or speakers.

“I feel like it’s my home and I want to go there. I was just there two months ago, and I can’t wait for when I can go back. It’s a special feeling,” said one of the participants with an Israeli flag draped over her shoulder.

Lana Rifkan helped organize the event and said it was all about expressing pride in Judaism.

“With so much antisemitism that’s on the rise right now, we felt it was really important to show our community and everyone that we are united, that we are not scared,” said Rifkan.

Some of the participants carried signs with pictures of Israelis kidnapped by Hamas. One man held a sign suggesting those hostages be exchanged for pro-Hamas students in the U.S.
