Harvard Professor On Leave After Report Reveals Epstein Ties

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Harvard math and biology professor has been placed on paid administrative leave, after a review unveiled his ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Before his conviction in 2008, Epstein donated more than $6 million so Professor Martin Nowak could start Harvard’s Program for Evolutionary Dynamics (PED.)

However after Epstein's conviction, when former Harvard President Drew G. Faust had barred any more donations from him, the report found Epstein "attempted to use Harvard and the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics, which Nowak directs, as a tool to rehabilitate his image following his 2008 conviction for solicitation of minors for prostitution."

According to the Harvard Crimson, the university report concluded Epstein likely visited the PED more than 40 times between 2010 and 2018. It says Professor Nowak approved the posting of "flattering and false descriptions of Epstein’s philanthropy and support of Harvard" on the PED website.

The report found Nowak even gave Epstein key cards to get into the building, and offered space for the convicted sex offender to host dinners with faculty and political figures.
