Fundraiser To Be Held For Kittery, Maine’s Ice Dance International

KITTERY, Maine (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lara Shelton, from Wayland, was touring in her first season with Ice Dance International, out of Kittery, Maine, when the coronavirus pandemic began.

“It’s a little terrifying. I hadn’t planned on plan B,” Shelton said. “Our tour got cut short and then all my contracts were cancelled.”

Shelton is now on unemployment and is taking some classes at MassBay Community College. She doesn’t see a return to touring professionally until there is a coronavirus vaccine.

In the meantime, Ice Dance International is holding an hour-long virtual fundraiser on Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. on Facebook.

“You’ll be able to see some very unique pieces, some that haven’t been performed before for the public, as well as a piece that was being created to be performed,” Shelton said.

The money raised will fund future projects and clinics that the company holds for children.
