BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Saturday morning outside Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, healthcare workers were greeted with an array of flowers arranged in a massive heart, giving thanks for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kicking off Easter weekend, hundreds of hydrangeas, tulips, and daffodils were laid out by local florists CityScapes Boston, as gifts to BIDMC's medical professionals.
CityScapes said they got help from other growers in Massachusetts and Canada to make the gesture outside BIDMC.
Workers put out the small bouquets while playing "Give a little plant," from their van, set to the tune of SuperTramp's song "Give a little bit." The florists cheered for the healthcare staff inside the hospital, who later came out and selected their own bunch of flowers to take.
Jan Goodman, owner of CityScapes, said the company will give out flowers to as many healthcare works as they can over the coming weeks.
