5-Year-Old Girl Safe After Dorchester Kidnapping, Suspect At Large

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston police continue to search for a suspect linked to the kidnapping of a 5-year-old girl in Dorchester on Monday.

The girl was found safe in Randolph after a suspect stole a car with her inside, Massachusetts State Police said.

According to State Police Media Communications Director Dave Procopio, the girl was sitting in a car that was stolen while her father was away from the vehicle.

WBZ-TV's Julie MacDonald reported the father went into a restauran

t on Leedsville Street in Dorchester, leaving the little girl in the back seat of the car on Dorchester Avenue around 5 p.m.

Later, State Police said, Trooper David Frederick found the girl on Powdrell Avenue in Randolph, and she appeared to be safe and sound. Sources told the WBZ-TV I-Team the little girl was let out of the car safely, and the suspect, who is still at large, kept driving.

The vehicle, a silver Honda Accord with Massachusetts plates reading US117D, is still missing. The father's cell phone last pinged it travelling south of Boston.
