Boston Common's Frog Pond Ice Skating Opens For Winter Season

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — With temperatures finally matching a typically fall season just weeks before winter, the Boston Common Frog Pond opened itself up to ice skating for the winter season.

Admission prices vary based on a skater's height:

  • 58-inches tall and over: $15
  • Anyone who stands under 58 inches enters for free.

For skate rentals, costs will depend on each visitor's age. Skate sizes available go from 8T to a men's 15. Locker rentals will cost $7 each, skate sharpening for $12, and usage of "Bobby the Skating Seal," a skating aid, will cost $18 per hour in use.

  • Adults: $15
  • Kids: $10

Operating hours for the Frog Pond varies on the day, with Monday being a significantly shorter day. Tickets will not be sold in the half hour leading up to the day's end.

  • Sunday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Monday: 10:00 AM – 3:45 PM
  • Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Thursday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Friday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Holiday hours will also be as follows:

  • December 24th: Closing Early at 5:00 PM
  • December 25th: Closed
  • December 31st: Closing Early at 3:00 PM
  • January 1st: Open for Regular Hours
