Barnstable Police Investigating Shooting That Prompted "Shelter In Place"

HYANNIS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Police in Barnstable are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that prompted a “Shelter In Place” order.

Barnstable Police said they responded to the area of Quaker Road for a reported gunshot wound at around 6:21 p.m.

Upon arrival officers learned that the 32-year-old male victim had already left the scene and was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Cape Cod Hospital.

The incident promoted police to issue a “Shelter In Place” order, but it was shortly lifted after the scene was secured and investigation revealed the incident to be isolated.

The incident continues to be under investigation by the Barnstable Police Eve Shift and Detective Unit.
