BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A small road connecting Boston's Back Bay and Fenway neighborhoods reopened to vehicle traffic last week.
Agassiz Road is a cut-through in the Back Bay Fens. It shut down three years ago while crews worked on the Muddy River Restoration Project.

The road was finally reopened on Friday after the project's completion earlier this winter. Nearby residents told WBZ NewsRadio this is good news for the neighborhood because it will help decongest traffic.
"Now that the road has been reopened, there has been some traffic release in the area," one Bostonian said. "It is the only thoroughfare that gets you from the east to the west Fenway."
"Red Sox season is coming up, so I’m looking forward to that," said Jamison. "Having this thoroughfare will help get pedestrians to Fenway Park a little easier."
"[It] got people up toward the heart of Back Bay, more toward Mass Ave. So it took some of the heat off the Kenmore," another resident said.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation said they will study the use and design of Agassiz Road over the next year to see what the future will look like for the cut-through.
