DANVERS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — After hearing about an opportunity she couldn't refuse, the former CEO of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery made a career switch.

Cindy VerColen is now the owner of 'Clean Eatz' in Danvers, a cafe franchise that serves and sells 'grab and go' meals featuring fresh, quality food that is affordable.

She said she heard about an opportunity to own a 'Clean Eatz' franchise, and she decided to make the big career change.

'Clean Eatz' features both eat-in and take-out services, and customers can make up their own meal plans for later pick-up. "Clean-Eatz is a healthy cafe and meal plan business," VerColen said. "Our claim-to-fame is being affordable and healthy and convenient."

She said each meal is macro-nutrient balanced providing individuals the right amount of calories, fats, proteins and carbohydrates.

There are about 100 'Clean Eatz' in the country, just one in New England, located in Danvers on Route 114.
