QUINCY, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Quincy Police department officially has a new member, a purse bread Belgian Malinois named Mochi.

The newest K-9 to don on the badge was adopted by Quincy Police Officer Yee, from a family in Quincy back in 2018, when she was just five weeks old. Officer Yee quickly realized Mochi had the potential to be more than just his pet, and began training her as a working police canine.

Flash forward, Mochi is now a certified Patrol Explosive Ordinance Detection (EOD) canine and has started her first job, working along side K-9 Handler Officer Doherty.
