MARLBOROUGH (WBZNewsRadio) - At just 10 years old, Jack Brzenk began writing music. Now, Brzenk is a junior at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School and he's just released his first album, "Wilson Street."
While music has always played a huge role in his life, it was during the global pandemic and lockdowns when Brzenk found himself really focused on writing, finalizing and producing the album, which he announced in fall of 2021. It was at Assabet that Brzenk learned how to produce songs digitally.
"We could not be happier with the experience and education Assabet has given Jack the last three years," said Tricia Brzenk, Brzenk's mother. "He had been taught skills and given opportunities in his classes that he would never had gotten at any other school in our area. Assabet provides their students with experiences that promote their talents and interests. We are so grateful that Jack has been able to thrive at this school."
Brzenk said Assabet has taught him how to design graphics, edit videos and market his music through social media, and added the skills he's learned while as a student has pushed him to thrive both as a student and as a musician.
"Jack is a very talented young musician," said Superintendent Ernest F. Houle. "His first album release clearly demonstrates that he has a bright future in music ahead of him, and we are grateful that his Assabet education had contributed to his success. Congrats Jack!"
The 13-track album focuses on the highs and lows of his family's experiences, Covid-19, and his relationships with his peers.
