BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – The famous 'Skinny House' in Boston's North End just sold on Zillow for $1.25 million, $50,000 over the asking price.

44 Hull Street is a sliver-like structure across from the Copp's Hill Burying ground. The unofficial Freedom Trail landmark is four stories high but just ten feet, two inches at its widest point—a mere six feet, two inches wide at its narrowest.

The house was listed in August for $1.2 million, and with housing prices hitting a record high in Massachusetts this summer, CL Properties posted on Facebook Thursday that it 'received multiple offers and went under agreement for over list price in less than one week.' The agent did not disclosed who had purchased the home.

Also known as the 'Spite House' the story behind the Skinny House is one sibling rivalry.

In the story recounted by tour guides, two brothers owned the land. When one went to fight in the civil war, the other stayed and built a large house on the property. The returning soldier brother was furious, and out of spite built a second home on the sliver of land left over, blocking his brother's view of the sun and the hillside.

The Skinny House sold for $900,000 in 2017 and $345,000 in 2000.
