Gov. Baker Closes Schools For Rest Of School Year

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — At a press conference on Tuesday, Gov. Charlie Baker announced that all schools in the state will be closed for the remainder of the school year.

This closure applies to both public and private schools.

Gov. Baker said he acknowledges how this decision can be hard on high school seniors who are graduating this year.

"As the father of three grown children, it stings for me too because I remember how precious this time is," Gov. Baker said. "So, to all the seniors, we would just say you should keep your heads up. The end of the year may not proceed as planned, but there will be, because there always are, brighter days ahead."
