BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — This year's first supermoon — called the Super Snow Moon — will be able to be seen this weekend.
The supermoon can been viewed at 2:33 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, according to NASA. The moon will also appear full for about three days.

This moon can be seen every February. As well as Snow Moon, it has been called Storm Moon, Hunger Moon, Magha Purnima, Magha Puja, the Mahamuni Pagoda Festival Moon, the Chinese Lantern Festival Moon, and the Full Moon of Tu B'Shevat.
Later this month, NASA says the moon is set to pass in front of Mars on Feb. 18. This is called an occultation, and can be seen at night on the western half of North America. It will not be visible on the eastern half — which includes Boston — because it is set to happen during the day.
