CAMBRIDGE, MA (WBZ-AM) — Authorities are seeking the public help in the death of a man who was found with a fatal head injury inside a Cambridge Park.

Middlesex County district attorney Marian Ryan says the man, beaten to death in Danehy Park in Cambridge Thursday night lived nearby.

He has been identified as Paul Wilson, 60, of Cambridge.

She says he was beaten to death.  And while a baseball bat was found near him, authorities are not sure if that is the murder weapon. Cambridge Police Superintendent Stephen Demarco said that Park is one of the safest parks in the city.

He also pointed out that while Cambridge had only one homicide all of last year, he is concerned.

Miriam Ryan indicated that robbery was not a motive, and they don't know why this happened.

They are asking for the Public's help in this investigation and also looking for potential video of the scene.

If anyone has information related to the death of Paul Wilson they are asked to call the Cambridge Police tip line at 617-349-3359.
