Police arrest 2 in massive Boston-area drug sweep

BOSTON (AP) — Police have seized about $200,000 worth of suspected heroin and cocaine and $60,000 in cash as part of a massive drug sweep in Massachusetts.

The Middlesex County District Attorney's office says the seizure Thursday was the result of a nine-month investigation into a drug ring operating out of Boston.

District Attorney Marian Ryan says officers found the drugs while executing a search warrant on a vehicle in Natick and two homes in Boston.

She says the bust was the largest her office made this year.

Police have arrested two Boston men and charged them with drug trafficking, conspiracy and identity fraud.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
