BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Jaylen Brown's enjoying a nice stretch for the Celtics. With last night's 27 points, he's averaging 21 on 52 percent shooting his last five but, more important--and problematic--his C's have lost four of them.
"Got a lot of young guys on the team, and they're trying to get ready for that level of intensity of the playoffs," Brown said. "I don't think I'm watching them play nearly as well as they could have ... just a mindset, a level of focus that we just got to get back to, and like an understanding that this is it."
C's are locked into second in the East so, in that sense, last night's 113-101 loss to the Wizards didn't matter, but there's much to determine tonight.
Boston will host Brooklyn at 8 in its regular season finale. Don't expect the Celts' regulars to play heavy minutes.
The first-round of the playoffs start this weekend and, currently, C's could still face the Bucks, Heat, or Wiz, depending on how tonight's games finish.
If they all win, Boston will have a playoff date with Miami.
Heat are home tonight against a Raptors club with little on the line. Bucks will visit a motivated Sixers squad that's won 15 straight, and can lock up the three-seed with another W.
And the Wizards are in Orlando against a tanking Magic group that wants to lose.
