BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- The husband of former Senate President Stan Rosenberg -- may have had more direct access to Senate affairs than previously known.
That's according to a globe report- which claims Rosenberg allowed his husband, Byron Hefner, access to his Senate e-mail, along with contacts and calendar.
Governor Charlie baker says this:
“Let’s see what the investigation determines. The most important thing at this point is that these allegations need to be thoroughly be reviewed and investigated as part of the overall investigation being led by the senate,” he said
Governor Baker said if the latest reports in the globe are true, then Rosenberg should not return to the presidency.

The paper reports that the Amherst Democrat's husband Bryon Hefner had access to Rosenberg’s email, despite his promise to put a firewall between his personal and professional lives. Baker says this is troubling -
Rosenberg had previously maintained Hefner had no influence on his actions or decisions as senate president.
Rosenberg stepped down as senate president last year -- as an investigation continues into allegations of sexual harassment against Hefner.
